Pizza Party.

Project 365 * 4
Day 390

We had a pizza party tonight. I just found out that zpizza has gluten free pizzas, so we had to give a try. The pizza was awesome. What was even more awesome was watching Addy enjoy a couple of slices of pizza. She hasn't had pizza in a long while. She was so happy! And that makes me happy. She was saying things like, "mmmm, this pizza is so good...I like this pizza, mama...can we get this pizza again next year?" Adelyn has four ways of describing time. Tomorrow, next year, good morning time, and good night time. She's the best. So in love with my sweet daughter.

Thankful for a very good Saturday. Thankful for pizza parties. One of my favorite parts of a pizza party is the part where someone walks into the house shouting, "pizza's here." I love the sound of feet furiously running to the kitchen that follows that exclamation. I did that today. I walked in and yelled it as loud as I could, "pizza's here!" And my favorite people came running. Thankful for that.

Sometimes it takes a while to find her.

Grocery Store Dates

Project 365 * 4
Day 388

So, Patty and I have come up with this great idea. It ensures that we never have to take our kids grocery shopping again. Any parents out there, you know what I'm talking about. Taking kids to the grocery store, even on a good day, is like running a marathon. It is so hard. So, we came up with a plan. Whenever I have to go grocery shopping, I'll just drop Adelyn and Tobin off at her house. And vice versa. This morning, we took it another step further. Even if Matt is off, I won't leave the kids with him. We'll still drop the kids off, and go to the store. Same for Patty and AJ. Not only does our plan ensure peaceful grocery shopping trips, it also ensures weekly dates with our husbands. I know going to the grocery store doesn't sound like much of a date, but when you have little ones in the house, just walking to the mailbox together could be a date. Time alone is precious. And it's hard to come by.

I'm thankful for my grocery store date with Matt. We used to shop together all the time, and I miss it. Even though he still gets a little moody when we are in the "fruits and vegetables" section too long. Thankful for time spent with my love. No matter how short. Any time spent with him is a good time. Thankful that my sister and I came up with such a stellar plan. So simple, yet so genius at the same time. Thankful for another cold day spent inside with all my favorite people. Cozy days are the best days.

I'm LOVING these days off.

Project 365 * 4
Day 387

I am so loving having all these snow days. I love having Adelyn home from school. Patty, Casey, Sophia, Adelyn, Tobin, and I have been having some pretty fun days. Thankful for snow days. Thankful for fun days spent with the ones I love. Thankful that my sister is my best friend, and she lives about three minutes away. Although, we still think 3 minutes is too far. Our ideal situation would be to live right next door to each other with a tiny little door connecting our houses. Or in one giant house. Thankful for the sparkly snow. It's beautiful. Thankful for the cold. It ensures that we stay nice and warm and cozy and toasty inside. Thankful for winter. I love the snowy cold.

Trying to make Tobin smile.

Snow Day!

Project 365 * 4
Day 386

I'm 31. And I still love snow days. I get so excited when I hear that school is closed because of snow! Today was a great snow day. We watched movies. We played in the snow. We drank hot chocolate. And we had chili for dinner. Two kinds of chili. We don't skimp on the snow day festivities around here.

Thankful for snow days. Thankful for fun in the cold with people I love. Thankful that Matt still flirts with me. He pushed me over in the snow today, and told me that one of the first times he remembers flirting with me, was during a snow storm. Thankful for pink cheeks warmed by blankets and hot chocolate. Thankful for my warm home. And my warm bed. And my warm dog. And my sweet husband. And my sleeping babes. It's a good night. Good night!
