Good Sunday.

June 6, 2021
Day 1,684

Thankful for:

A good Sunday.

Time with Steph and Mario.

Matt's mama.

My husband; he loves me so much. I never doubt how much he loves me.

I accomplished everything I needed to this weekend. I'm not sure how I did it, but I did.

We have the last week of school coming up. I can't wait to be home with my loves.

Pretty and sunny places in the woods.

Living in a pretty home and pretty place.

Being able to see animals and beautiful things anytime I want.

Time spent with Matt's grandparents today. We had lunch together and spent time talking.

So much laughter with Steph and Mario.

I finished a blanket for my friend.

Plans for a graduation party for Casey, William, and Addy here at our home on Friday.

Plans to see Matt's grandparents tomorrow.

The upcoming week is the last week of school; I'm really ready to be home for the summer with all my loves.

Courage.

June 4, 2021
Day 1,682

Thankful for:

A day called Friday.

Courage. I walked into a tattoo parlor today and got my nose pierced. I'm proud of me. I feel like a cool kid.

Adelyn and Tobin and Casey and Phia and Odette. I love them.

My husband. He loves me. He loves my new piercing.

Time to crochet. I have a blanket to finish by tomorrow.

The weekend.

Doritos. I love them. They're so bad, but so good. I never eat them because they're not healthy, so when I do get the chance to eat them, I really enjoy them.

Sandwiches.

Friends.

A goodbye party at a park for my friend, Lorrie.

Beautiful words.

June 3, 2021
Day 1,681

Hobbit: "I didn't think it would end this way."

Gandalf: "End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path...one that we all must take. The gray rain curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass. And then you see it."

Hobbit: "What? Gandalf? See what?"

Gandalf: "White shores...and beyond...a far green country under a swift sunrise."

Hobbit: "Well...that isn't so bad."

Gandalf: "No. No, it isn't."

Thankful for beautiful words. Thankful for The Lord of the Rings movies. Thankful for a summer storm. Thankful for the feeling that tomorrow is Friday. And then the weekend. And then only another week more until I am home for the summer with the loves of my life. Thankful for time to be quiet and still. Thankful for hot tea and time to think. Thankful for time to write. Thankful that somewhere, deep inside, there are beautiful words in me waiting to come out. Thankful for the waiting times. Thankful for J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. Thankful for powerful words and stories to read in the waiting time. Thankful for words of love from Matt. They come in text message form, but that doesn't make those words any less meaningful. Words hold power. The format doesn't change the value of words spoken. Thankful for time to be silly with my kids. Thankful for time to sleep.

I found a large shed snake skin in the backyard.

It wasn't too hot today.

Time with Patty and Heidi.

Thankful for time with my friend Jami.

Thankful for time to sleep in bed next to the love of my life.

All the quiet moments.

June 1, 2021
Day 1,679

Today, I drove past a mother duck and its duckling floating on the water in a little pond on the way to school. It was simple, but it struck me. The world is constantly roaring by. And somewhere out there in the wide world, there is a small pond in a small neighborhood that happens to contain two ducks. A mother and its baby. And while the world is going, going, going, they are floating, floating, floating. Enjoying the dawn and each other. I like to think of the quiet moments of the world. They comfort me.

Thankful for two sweet ducks and a little round pond and all the quiet moments.
