Thankful for: 

A beautiful morning outside. 

Time with Matt. 

Laughing with Matt. 

The gift of my children. 

Kabobs for dinner again. 

The feeling of my bed. 

Another day off tomorrow. 

Birds, bunnies, Higbee. 

Cardinals and a Carolina wren.

Day 3,055

Thankful for: 

The long way home. The past two days, I have driven the very long way home from work, and it has brought me so much joy. Instead of driving the normal way with endless traffic and construction and light after light after light, I go the long way. The long way has endless fields of grass, mountains, huge hills with rocks and little caves, gorgeous trees, cows, horses, and so much sky. The long way home is filled with beauty, and it isn't always just about the destination. The journey matters too. 

Cardinals. Carolina wrens. Sitting outside with my birds. 

Today, when I walked outside with the cup of bird seed, a cardinal followed me to a tree and watched me scatter it. It didn't even wait until I walked away before it started eating. It made me happy that it recognized me. 

Happy Higbee when I get home. 

Carry out. We got kabobs for dinner. It was delicious. 

A nice shower. New lotion. 

Time to sit in bed and write and think and watch a beautiful movie. 

Laughing with Matt. 

Turkey buzzards. 

The weekend ahead of me. 

My family. 

Friends. 

Tomorrow is Friday.

Thankful for: 

Matt could stay home today. 

Medicine. 

Melissa being so understanding. 

A co-worker doing something kind for me. 

A good salad for lunch. 

Tobin doesn't have anything major going on like flu or strep. 

Sweet students. 

Tomorrow is Friday. 

I cannot wait to be home and rest tomorrow night and Saturday and Sunday. 

Salad for dinner. 

Time to rest. 

Being able to buy the things we need and want at the grocery store. 

My mom picking up Addy and meeting Matt somewhere. 

Higbee being cute.

Thankful for: 

A new fridge. It makes two different sizes of ice. 

Time to work quietly. 

Matt, Adelyn, Tobin, Higbee, and our home. 

Tobin wasn't feeling well, but he's feeling better. 

A walk with Matt and Higbee. 

I saw a beautiful robin. 

Going to bed early. 

Higbee snoring in bed while I write this. 

Time with Matt. 

Lots of laughter. 

Only two more days of work left until the weekend. 

An early birthday present--Matt got me nice hand cream. He's always trying to help my dry hands. 

Time to sleep all night. 

Prayers, quiet songs, quiet spaces.

Thankful for: 

Tobin playing jokes this morning. 

An easy dinner. 

I get to work from home tomorrow. 

Pretty things. 

Birds. 

Higbee. Time to sit quietly outside. 

Hugs. 

Tears.

Quiet songs. 

Quiet spaces. 

Sweet students. 

Time to sleep.
