Day 3,014
Thankful for:
Another day at home.
I saw a pileated woodpecker, a hawk, a red-bellied woodpecker, and lots of beautiful birds today.
Time to be quiet.
Time to walk with Addy and Tobin.
Time to watch a comforting and funny show.
Roasted chicken, potatoes, and carrots for dinner.
Addy's first play performance is tomorrow.
A two hour delay tomorrow. Time to sleep in.
Friends.
Family.
I helped a lost dog find his family.
I watched a blue jay alert all the birds when a hawk was hiding in a tree watching the birds eat from the bird feeder. The blue jay made a loud call over and over, alerting the other birds to the hawk's presence. Then the blue jay flew to the branch where the hawk was sitting, and proceeded to make the loud, alarming call in the hawk's face. I was amazed at its bravery. The hawk was much larger and could injure the blue jay very easily, but the blue jay didn't care. Many years ago, I witnessed a blue jay doing the same thing in my parent's yard when there was a snake present. I'm amazed that God made creatures that care for and protect other creatures.
