Day 2,982
Thankful for:
A great day with Matt, Adelyn, Tobin, and Higbee.
Fox tracks, rabbit tracks, and deer tracks in the freshly fallen snow on our driveway this morning.
Matt and I spent an hour on the couch being silly and laughing this morning. I love to laugh hard with Matt.
We put away all our Christmas things today. It seems sad to put our joyful Christmas decorations away for a whole year. It seems sad that another Christmas has come and gone, and we won't have another one for a whole year. Matt reminded me that it is less than a year before we put our Christmas things up again. That took the sting out of it.
Our house seems clean and fresh; like it lost 20 pounds.
I joined a gym. I'm excited to begin lifting weights and getting strong.
Matt, Adelyn, Tobin, Higbee, and I played together in the snow today. It was so much fun. We spent time in the middle of the forest lying down and looking straight up at the trees. It was quiet and cold.
I sat outside and watched the birds. Today when I watched them, I noticed that the red headed woodpecker does a curious thing with the corn from the bird feeder. It flies to my feeder, picks out pieces of corn, flies to a certain tree, and then stuffs the piece of corn into a hole it had already created in the tree with its beak. Every time it filled a hole with corn, it did so hanging upside down. I watched the woodpecker do it over and over again. I learn a lot from sitting and watching.
I crave the cold air. This week off in the cold, cold air with snow on the ground has been such a gift to me.

We had Foster's for dinner. It was delicious.
Plans to go hiking tomorrow.
The feeling of a hot shower.
The feeling of clean and lotioned skin in bed.
Time to lie in bed and read for many hours.
Beautiful words.
One more day off tomorrow.
