Three, three, short and sweet.

Day 519

     I was teaching my students about the Israelite's exodus from Egypt today. God led them out and performed huge miracle after huge miracle after huge miracle, and almost as soon as they were a free people, they started to doubt. They started to complain. They started to question God. I always like to ask this of my students, because I often ask it of myself: Are we like the Israelites? And like my students, I always answer this way at first: No.

     But we are. And I am. I found myself doubting and worrying tonight the same way the Israelites did. They grumbled. They worried. They didn't trust God to care for them. And when I worry instead just praying and asking God to help us through it.

    Thankful.

Day 518

     Today was extremely busy, but good. I had lunch with one of my students today, and it was so sweet to sit and talk and spend quality time with this student. I'm with my kids all the time, but they are always so different when you're one on one with them. Thankful for time to connect with a sweet kid. Thankful for the gift of being a teacher. Thankful for my family. Thankful for night time.

God things are happening.

Day 517

     Today was fantastic! We found out that we are getting the house we just put an offer on! I am so excited to move into this new season of our lives. God is good and His plans are good. I also found out two other pieces of good news today. Good things are happening. God things are happening. :)

Day 516

     It was a great day. We relaxed at home. We watched movies in our pajamas. We went out for lunch, and took the kids to Target to get a new toy since they both made 100 points on our good behavior chart. They were so happy. We read books tonight. It was nice to spend so much time with them. Thankful for my sweet family.

Day 515

     Today we celebrated Casey's birthday. We went to laser tag. It was really fun! I didn't think I would like it but I did. Then we came home and had dinner. It was super chaotic, but I'd rather have a chaotic day with my family than spend it alone. Thankful for my family. Thankful for Casey. Thankful for birthdays. Thankful for this day and to have breath in my lungs.

Thankful for time to sleep. I came home and went straight to bed. I woke up briefly right now to get a drink and write this.
