Happy Halloween!

Project 365 * 2 -- Day 301

Adelyn and Casey had a little costume parade at school today. And they sang a few little Halloween songs on stage.

And then tonight was Halloween!

How funny is it that they both closed their eyes?

The coolest socks ever. Superman socks with capes!

Thankful for a fun, sweet day. It was so exciting for Adelyn and Tobin. And I love seeing them excited! Adelyn was a beautiful mermaid. She loved getting all dressed up like Ariel. Tobin was Superman. And what a Superman he was. Perhaps my favorite part of the night was seeing his cape blow in the wind. And my favorite part of his outfit? His Superman socks complete with mini capes. Matt's mom spent the day with us, and it was so special to have her with us on this very fun day.

Thankful for fun days. Thankful for mermaid costumes, and superhero capes. Thankful that Matt was off today, and that we got to spend time with his mom. Thankful for fun days at preschool. Thankful for the quiet after the Halloween storm! I'm ready for some hot tea and roasted pumpkin seeds in bed with an episode of The Office.

Looking for beautiful things on day 300.

Project 365 * 2 -- Day 300

Day 300. It was a good day. I wish everyone I know would spend time everyday writing about what they were thankful for. It has literally changed my life forever. Everything is more beautiful. Everything is more amazing. Everything is a miracle. The blue sky looks bluer. The red leaves look redder. We don't just take walks. We go looking for beauty and adventure. We go looking for new things to see. Tonight, more than anything, I'm feeling just so very happy and blessed to be alive. You know that feeling when you pour the perfect glass of ice water on a hot day? A big glass. Lots of ice. Then water. Filled up and spilling over the brim. That's how I'm feeling. Filled up and spilling over.

Thankful for a beautiful day. Thankful for family. Thankful for blue sky. And red leaves so red they glow. Thankful for sunlight. Thankful for the way the sun shines through the trees. Trees are my favorite. Especially trees with glowing red leaves. Thankful for the way Tobin's blue eyes look in the sunlight. Thankful for the way Addy runs up to me after school, saying, "MAMA," with the biggest smile on her face. Thankful for the way Matt smiles at me. With love in his eyes. Thankful for family dinners with Patty, AJ, Casey, and Sophia. It's loud, but there's love. So, it's all good. Thankful for the kind of nights when you lay down in bed to sleep, and just before you do, you feel an overwhelming sense of good, joy, and happiness.

Dad to the rescue!

Project 365 * 2 -- Day 299

We broke down today. Luckily, for us, we were in the parking lot of Adelyn's preschool. My mom was there. Matt was off today. Shane was with us. So, we all played with Adelyn and Tobin while we waited for my dad to come rescue us. As he always does. There is never any doubt in my mind that when we need my dad, he will be there for us. He will help us. He always does. Like today, I called him up, and told him what happened. Twenty minutes later, he called to tell me he was on his way. And stopping to pick up a battery first. Love my dad so much. It is just so good to have a dad that never stops being a dad. He is always taking care of us. I love that about him.

Plus, we couldn't have been stuck in a better place. We played with the kids until my dad got there. We played on the indoor playground, in my mom's classroom, and on the outdoor playground. After Big Juicy got all fixed up, we got some pizzas, and had dinner at my parent's house. It was a great visit. Love spending time with my parents, and my brother. Feeling blessed today. And everyday.

Thankful for my dad, the hero. Thankful that we got to spend time together as a family today. It was unexpected. I think that's what I loved the most about it. An unexpected little treat. In the form of us breaking down in the parking lot of Adelyn's school. Thankful for things like pizza nights with family. And I'm thankful for just a really great day. It's good to have great days.

It's nice to visit.

Project 365 * 2 -- Day 298

We had a lovely visit with my grandparents today. They brought books and stuffed animals for the kids. So, we did some reading. And some tickling with stuffed animals.

So thankful for wonderful grandparents. Thankful for so many great memories with them. Thankful we get to watch as our children make memories with them. Thankful for their love and kindness. Thankful for nice little visits, and lunch, and lattes. Thankful for a sweet time with loved ones today.
