Things to be thankful for on this Thursday.

March 31, 2022

Day 1,991

Thankful for: 

It was supposed to be a severe weather day, and it wasn't. 

I was nervous about the wind today, but God protected our home. 

Talking with Matt during a break from school. I just missed his face and had to see him and hear his voice. 

My students. I really love them. I'm thankful I have the job I have. 

Easy dinners. 

Easy meals made and prepped for other days. 

Tea and toast for dinner. 

Laughing with Adelyn, Tobin, and Matt. They make me laugh all day. 

Tonight was the first thunderstorm of the year. 

I saw yellow eyes in the forest tonight. According to the internet, it was either a raccoon, coyote, or bear. 

We got new rock for our driveway today. It looks beautiful, and our driveway is super crunchy again. I love the sound of the crunch under my feet. 

Time in bed with Matt. 

A short, easy day at work tomorrow.

Day 1,990

Thankful for: 

Time after school to work on things I needed to get done. 

Listening to my kids play with Lincoln logs. 

Tomorrow is like Friday because Friday is a teacher work day. 

Tomorrow will be a fun day at school for my students; we're watching a movie to celebrate finishing the book we just read. 

Matt is home tomorrow. 

A good night with the love of my life. 

A delicious dinner; kale, roasted vegetables, turkey burger, and pumpkin seeds with lemon dressing. 

Tea in bed. 

Sweet Higbee boy. He randomly jumps up in bed sometimes for pets and cuddles. I love him so much. 

Tobin and Adelyn. I love laughing with them. I'm glad I get to be the one that takes care of them and love them. 

Our beautiful, comfortable home. I love it more than any home I've ever lived in. I'm so thankful God gave our family the gift of this home and our land. 

It's just so good.

Thankful for: 

A good day at school.

The sweetest students. I had one student bring me a homemade necklace, and purchase a bracelet for me with their hard earned Spanish dollars. The Spanish teachers gave them Spanish bucks to spend at the "St. Michael's Store." One of my students bought me a bracelet with his money. I'm constantly blown away by that one student. I don't think there has been another student that has surprised me me than that one. I'm very thankful that I learn new things from my students every day. 

Watching Tobin at soccer practice for a bit. He's so happy to be involved with a sport. 

A yummy dinner. 

Good lunches prepped for tomorrow. 

Laying in my bed with the love of my life. I don't deserve him. 

Kisses and hugs and cuddles from the love of my life. 

Cuddling in bed with Higbee. 

There's only one day of the school week after tomorrow. 

Matt told me he planned my birthday party today, and I'm excited. He's the absolute best gift giver. 

The best home in the prettiest woods. 

This lovely, lovely wonderful life. It's just so good.

Thankful for: 

The cold, cold air. 

The gray and green of the forest in March. 

Coming home to the best husband and dog and home. 

Sitting and talking with Matt for a while before making dinner because I missed him, and I just had to sit and be with him. 

Reading in bed with the whole family: me, Matt, Addy, Tobin, and Higbee. It's very cozy, and I'm very thankful for moments like that. 

A quick, easy dinner that turned out delicious. 

Knowing that Matt is off and home for the next few days. I absolutely love when Matt is off and home with Higbee. It makes me feel very cozy inside. Almost like I am off and home just because Matt is. When I think about Matt and Higbee cuddled up on the couches relaxing, it makes me feel relaxed and at peace. 

A short week at school this week. 

My family is healthy. 

My new haircut. I'm thankful that I was able to take the time to go on Sunday. I'm thankful that my sister and Armando watched my kids. I'm thankful to be able to do things that make me feel good about myself. 

Getting pictures of baby Aiden. He's so sweet, and I can't wait to see him.

A haircut this morning. 

Time to visit my friend, Jason. It was good to see him. 

A little time with Patty, Armando, Odette, and puppies. 

Grocery shopping with Addy and Tobin. 

Nice fruits and vegetables to eat. 

Coming home to the best home in the world. 

Seeing Higbee when he's happy to see us. 

An easy dinner. 

Watching Seinfeld with the kids. I love showing them the best shows ever made. 

Time to get schoolwork done. 

Lunches all prepped and ready for tomorrow. 

A quick phone call with my dad today. 

Cheyenne's birthday is today. I'm thankful to call her my sister in law. 

A phone call with Matt. Talking with Matt makes me feel at home. I love his voice. I love how talking with him makes me feel. I can't wait to see him tomorrow.

A beautiful, cold day. Wind, snow, sleet, sunshine. It was a cozy day to be inside. 

A day to celebrate Matt's mom's birthday. 

Matt's mom. She's a beautiful, strong, amazing person. I'm so thankful to call her my mom. 

Good food. 

Lots of laughter. 

Matt's mom gave me beautiful antique teacups and saucers. One is from the 1800's. I'm very excited to have them.

A great day at school.

The gift of having Sophia and Tobin in class with me this year.

I got a big hunk of work done today, and I'll get some more done tomorrow. 

Matt made us dinner tonight. He made corned beef and cabbage. He got Guiness Blond, and Irish soda bread and it was lovely. I needed it. And I need Matt's love. It's a good thing he's never stingy with it.

Thankful for: 

The middle of the week. 

Dinner at Chipotle with friends. 

Not having to make dinner tonight. 

Coming home to sweet Higbee and being able to relax and be quiet. 

Tomorrow is Thursday, and the day after is Friday. 

I prepped all the lunches for tomorrow. I'm hoping to get out the door early tomorrow morning.

Thankful for: 

A date with Tobin after school. We went to Trader Joe's and bought lots of snacks, we got some fries from Chick-fil-a, and we ended our date at Cabella's. Tobin spied a large, stuffed great white shark and fell in love. I couldn't say no. It won't be too much longer that Tobin plays with stuffed animals. I love Tobin. He's the greatest boy. 

A playdate for Adelyn. I was so happy that she was happy. It makes me happy that she got time to connect with a friend, and play, and talk. She told me that her visit, "really lifted her spirits."

Thankful for: 

A day called Sunday. 

A day to stay home all day with my family. 

Time to sleep. 

Time to rest and watch a show. 

Time to clean. 

Hugs and kisses and cuddles from Matt. 

Matt sent me a text of a pretty lake and told me my eyes looked like the water of the lake. 

We had chicken fajitas for dinner. I love fajitas. 

A new week starts tomorrow. I'm not as prepared for it as I'd like to be, but I'm thankful that I took this weekend to truly relax and unwind. I needed to. 

Adelyn and Tobin. I got to cuddle with them yesterday and today, and that makes me happy. 

Higbee all cuddled up on the couch for an afternoon nap.
