Ninth Day of Advent: Bake Christmas Cookies

Day 2,240

Today was the ninth day of advent. We picked baking Christmas cookies. 

Adelyn is feeling a bit better so I'm glad about that. 

Tomorrow is Thursday and the next day is Friday. I can't wait to be home this weekend. 

Matt loves to hug me and kiss me and be with me. I'm thankful I have a husband who loves me madly. 

I have the sweetest children. 

I have the sweetest students. 

Christmas break is coming soon. 

I had a lot to do today, and it all got done. I'm thankful for that. 

I'm thankful that I get to go to bed now and drink my tea. 

Eighth Day of Advent: Mom Gives Dad a Big Kiss.

Today was the eighth day of advent. Matt picked it, and he actually picked one of his suggestions. His suggestion: Mom gives Dad a Big Kiss. :) The kids didn't enjoy this one! Haha!

Adelyn is feeling better after waking up sick this morning. 

Tomorrow is Wednesday. 

We had an easy chicken and rice dinner tonight. I had leftover tacos. 

The feeling of being in my comfortable bed after a long day. 

Hot tea in my favorite mug. 

Our warm, cozy, dry home on this wet, rainy night. 

Christmas break coming soon. 

A good day at school today.

Seventh Day of Advent: Give Higbee a New Toy

Thankful for: 

I finally, FINALLY finished doing everything I needed to do for a speeding ticket I got last year. I turned in the paper and paid the court fee today. It is done, and it feels good. 

I got home early today, and made a very yummy dinner. 

Lunches are all prepped and ready to go tomorrow. I even got water ready to boil in the kettle, and espresso ready to pour in the espresso machine. I even have vitamins in bags ready to go. It feels good to have had extra time to be prepared to be on time tomorrow. 

Tomorrow is an independent work day for my students. I'm excited about this fun day for them. 

Our advent paper today was: Higbee gets a new toy. He was very happy about it. It was a Santa Turkey. Key word here: WAS.  

I'm growing my hair out, and I'm loving having longer hair. It feels pretty. 

It was a good Monday. 

Our home is pretty all the time. It's especially pretty when it's decorated for Christmas. 

Sixth Day of Advent: Sing Christmas Carols

Thankful for: 

A great Sunday with my family. 

The house got cleaned. 

I checked a major thing off of my to-do list: I completed an 8 hour driver improvement course for a speeding ticket I got last year. It feels really good to have that off of my list. 

I'm going to leave school early today to take my certificate to the courthouse to be done with that ticket once and for all. 

We had street tacos for dinner. 

We sang Christmas carols around the Christmas tree for advent today. 

It was a good day. 

Matt loves to hug and kiss me every chance he gets. 

Tomorrow is the start of a new school week. I love fresh weeks. 

There are only ten days until Christmas break. 

Fifth Day of Advent: Put up new Christmas Decorations / First Swim Meet

Thankful for: 

A great swim meet for Adelyn and Casey. 

I loved seeing them be proud of themselves after a race. 

A shopping trip to Costco with Matt. 

Dinner at Patty and Armando's. 

Patty makes the most delicious food. Her salads are the best. 

Getting to hang out with family for a little bit. 

We got to watch the Jane Seymore/Joe Lando Christmas movie. It was really, really bad, but it was good to see Dr. Quinn and Sully together again. 

Coming home to the best house. 

Setting up new Christmas decorations. Matt bought a five foot Santa Clause and 42 inch nutcrackers. We were all singing, "Five foot Santa Clause, five foot Santa Clause..." to the tune of "Here Comes Santa Clause." I love being with my family. 

Advent paused. Things to be thankful for this Friday.

Thankful for: 

A fun day at school. 

Finally being done with the fundraiser I am charge of at school. 

Sweet students. 

The best family. I'm glad Patty and Armando are able to pick up Adelyn for me. 

Grocery shopping after school so I don't have to do it on the weekend. 

Meeting up with Patty and Armando at Wegman's. 

Ravioli for dinner. 

Me, Adelyn, and Tobin falling asleep on the couch before bedtime because we were all so tired. 

I'm very glad it's the weekend. 

I'm looking forward to Adelyn and Casey's first swim meet tomorrow. 

Fourth Day of Advent: make hot chocolate with marshmallows.

A great day at school.

The most amazing sunset. 

An easy dinner. 

Lots of hugs and love and kisses and snuggles from Matt.

I'm feeling better from a little cold I had. 

A fun day planned tomorrow.
