A busy, but productive day.

Thankful for: 

A brisk day. 

Pretty clouds. Pretty colors in the sky. A beautiful sunset. 

Panera for lunch. 

Helping my sister prepare for her new job. 

Getting to hang out with my sister and my friend all day. 

The kids got to play outside all day. 

Coming home to the best house ever and the best dog ever. 

Little texts with Matt today. 

Plans to go to tea with my mom and my sister and my grandma tomorrow. 

A very busy, but productive day. 

Hot tea. 

Oranges and pineapples. 

Long, deep smell of us.

Thankful for: 

A day called Friday. 

Friends. 

The chance to help a friend who was having a hard day. 

The feeling of coming home to the best family. 

The smell of Higbee and the way he looks at me. I also love the way he buries his face into the blankets of our bed. It's like he wants to take a long, deep smell of us. And it makes me happy to think that he loves us so much. 

Breakfast for dinner. 

Hot tea. 

Climbing into bed with Matt. 

Plans to help my sister tomorrow. 

My kids made mini rock museums today in our classroom. It was super cute.

Day 2,269

Thankful for a glorious morning. The light was very bright. The fog was thick and beautiful. The clouds were a magical color. I had extra time with Adelyn and Tobin in the car this morning. 

Thankful for answered prayers. 

Thankful for a glorious sunset. I love winter sunsets. 

Thankful for an easy night at home. 

Thankful for Christmas decorations still up in our house. 

Thankful for a quick video call with Matt. 

Thankful that tomorrow is Friday.

Thankful for: 

A walk with Higbee. 

Colder weather coming soon. 

An easy dinner night. 

The feeling of going to bed after a long day. 

The feeling of my weighted blanket when I'm cold and tired and needing sleep. 

Matt's hand finding mine even when he's sleeping. I love him. 

Hugs and kisses from my babies. 

The weekend coming soon.

Day 2,267

     This was a good, full day. It was my first day back to work after a long break. It was very good to see my sweet students and hear about their Christmases. It was very good to come home again after a long, first day back. 

Here's what made me happiest and thankful today: 

Cloudy skies. 

Christmas decorations still up. 

A lovely morning with Addy and Tobin. 

A great job that I love. 

A wonderful, comfortable vehicle to drive to work in. I was marveling at it this morning on my way into school. It made me thankful that Matt bought us such a nice vehicle. I'm proud of it. 

A short week this week. 

Tacos for dinner. 

Leftover tacos for dinner for tomorrow. 

The knowledge that Matt and Higbee were home and cozy together today. 

Matt. He makes me laugh and he loves me. 

Cuddling in bed and reading with Adelyn and Tobin. It's the best. The very best. I could do it all day. 

Simple. Humble. Holy.

Day 2,266

     This day was good. I woke up and was able to see and hear and feel. I woke up surrounded by all the great loves of my life in our dream house; only it's not a dream. It's real. I was able to go walking in the cold air. I saw bluebirds sitting on tree branches with the morning sun shining on them. I heard a hawk calling out to me as I walked past him in the woods. I let Higbee lead me where he wanted to go. He likes to smell all the things, and I was happy to let him. I came home and ate a lovely breakfast and drank clear, clean water. I showered in hot water followed by cold water. I went shopping for food with my sister and Odette. Then I went shopping some more with Tobin. Tobin and I got to pick Adelyn up from school. We came home to a clean kitchen because Matt had cleaned it for us. He was building a new storage cabinet for us. We had a lovely dinner together. We laughed. We relaxed on the couch. I laid in bed and read to my babies. We held hands and cuddled close together under the blankets. We read about Laura and Mary as we have been doing for many years now. We held hands tight while we prayed together. There were hugs and kisses before bedtime. 

     This day was simple. It was humble. There wasn't anything particularly exciting going on, but it was good because it was filled with the simple, humble, holy gifts of love and life. 

     I'm thankful for the every day goings on. I'm thankful that I get to do this life. It's good, and I don't deserve it.

Thankful for: 

A good day at home. 

Time with my family. 

I went and saw Patty and Armando's new house. I can't wait until they can move in. It's a beautiful home. 

We went out for burgers, fries, and milkshakes for dinner. 

I have one more day off. Tomorrow is the last day of Christmas break. 

I got a lot of work done for the yearbook today. 

Laughing at dinner with my family. 

Coming home to the sweetest dog ever. 

Plans to finish a major home project tomorrow. I'm excited for it.
