Day 196

Today was a lovely day. We spent it outside with Patty, Casey, and Phia.

We found a new playground with a big field and picnic tables.

There were many a yellow dandelion to pick today. There were also many a puffy dandelion to blow today.

I graded papers on the deck this afternoon. It was so pretty to sit there under our dogwood.

We went to a special Good Friday event at my mom's church tonight.

We went out to dinner as a family to our favorite restaurant of all time: Delia's. It was delicious as usual.

My grandparents joined us for dinner, and afterward they had sweet presents for the kids.

Tobin has been wearing his new shark tooth necklace all day every day. It's very sweet to see him feel cool wearing it.

Higbee likes to sit with me on the deck.

Adelyn is a very sweet and patient big sister. Especially when Tobin's being a baby.

I get to hang out with my parents tomorrow.

Day 195

It was a glorious day. Cool breeze, blue sky and we spent it in wide open spaces.

My kids were hilarious today. They switched outfits, and Adelyn pretended to be Tobin for the day and Tobin pretended to be Adelyn.

Tobin has a new book of nocturnal baby animals, and I love to read it with him because he thinks all the animals are so cute. He says so every time I turn a page.

Higbee howled today.

Patty and I went out tonight and we had the best time. Any time with my sister is the best time.

The cherry blossoms are spectacular right now.

Day 194

We went to a book fair today. Yay for new books!

Our cherry tree looked especially lovely today.

Tobin and I got to spend the evening together while Matt and Adelyn went to the movies.

Tobin looked especially sweet and cute when he was laughing about squirting me with his squirt gun.

Higbee was lazy and sleepy today. I love lazy, sleepy dogs.

My husband is the sweetest man.

Adelyn Bailey seemed very grown up today.

I got to catch up with a very dear friend on the phone today.

There are 5 whole days left on spring break.

Odette is coming soon and I cannot wait to hold her and smell her.

Farm Morning.

Day 193

We spent the morning at the farm.

Higbee was very sweet and sleepy today. 

I cleaned, organized, and rearranged Adelyn's and Tobin's room today. 

Matt's mom got me an amazing birthday gift: new patio furniture! My deck is such a comfy, cozy spot now! So thankful for Matt's mom and her wonderfully thoughtful gift!

Matt is off tomorrow. 

I had artichokes in my salad for dinner.

My grandma bought clothes for Adelyn this past weekend, and Adelyn is loving having pretty new dresses to wear. 

It was a good day.

Day 192

Today was a simple and pleasant day.

I like the way my cherry tree looks when it blows in the wind. Especially when the flowers are pink and fluffy.

Tobin and I read books on the couch.

Adelyn wrote a chapter book which she read to us at bedtime.

Higbee's eyes look very sweetly brown when he sits in the sun. Also, he smells like peace.

I'm going to a book sale tomorrow! I love books.

Matt is the sweetest husband ever. I love the way that even his eyes smile at me.

I love when my parents call me to chat and check in.

I love when my grandma calls to chat and check in.

I went grocery shopping this morning. I love a full fridge.

We had a lovely dinner. Roasted sweet potatoes make me happy.

I gave Matt a haircut today. I've been cutting his hair since we were 17.

I'm writing in bed. Bedtime is the best time.

Day 191

For a good Sunday.

For a relaxing day with family.

For benches on playgrounds.

For kisses on benches.

For a clean kitchen.

For an early to bed night for our kids.

For Higbee snuggles.

For the way my husband tells me I'm the best and that I'm so pretty.

For The Office.

For fresh, new Mondays.

For Stephanie, aka, Dr. Stephanie. She saved us $200 and a day of sitting in the ER waiting room. Adelyn changed her earrings herself about a week ago, and she shoved the back on so hard that shoved it into her ear. Yes. Into her earlobe. So thankful for Steph's love and patience. And her medical expertise.

For ice cream cones after the back of the earring was extracted from Adelyn's ear.

For time spent at Patty's with my parents.

For Odette. She's coming soon and I can't wait to meet her.

For a day done well.

Day 190

     Today was lovely. I spent the day with family. We had my favorite meal: corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, Irish soda bread, Guinness Blonde. The weather was spectacular. There was so much laughter during dinner. There was the most delicious cake. And there were so many generous and thoughtful gifts.

     I'm thankful for the wonderful birthday I had. I'm thankful for time. I'm thankful for all the people who love me.
