St. Augustine

Day 2,437

     Today was really fun! We went to explore St. Augustine. We went to Castillo de San Marcos National Monument. It was really amazing to see that place. It is the oldest masonry fort in the United States! Then we walked around St. Augustine and looked at all the shops. Then we met our friend, Mary Pat, for lunch. It was so awesome to see her and catch up! We ate lunch at a BBQ place, and then we walked around some more. We finished up our visit by getting gourmet popsicles! Our friend treated us all! I got strawberry basil, Tobin got watermelon, Matt and Adelyn got orange cream, and Mary Pat got blackberry blueberry. It was such a nice day, and it was so wonderful to see our friend. We finished up our day with a walk on the beach. Matt and his mom were too tired, so it was just me and the kids. About five minutes after we got there, Tobin came running up to me saying, "Mama, Mama, look what I found!" He held up a beautiful, perfect conch shell. He told me that he prayed that God would help him find something really cool. He said, "God answered my prayer." 

     Thankful for this special day! Thankful for this special trip! Thankful for two days left. Thankful for my sweet girl and boy. Every day with them is like a day at the beach on vacation.
