The Festival of the Lights.

Project 365 * 4
Day 721

And oh boy...what a festive time it was. We went to the Bull Run Festival of the Lights tonight. I don't think I've ever experienced a more merry or jolly Christmas activity. We all packed into Patty's car and went driving through a Christmassy wonderland. The kids were absolutely loving it. All we heard was, "WOW! Look...Christmas lights! Wow...oh, WOW!" It was so fun. Driving around, listening to Christmas music, looking at beautiful lights, and listening to our children vocalize the joy and wonder they were experiencing. There was one part where you drive through a tunnel of lights. Matt stepped on the gas and said we were going, "light speed," like they do in Star Wars. Our kids are really into Star Wars now. So the whole way home, every 30 seconds or so, someone would say, "light speed," or "again," and Matt would step on the gas. And all the kids would go, "whoaaaaaaaaaa!" It was a grand time.

Thankful for pretty Christmas lights. Thankful for Christmas music. Thankful for the joy and wonder of Christmas time. Thankful for little spurts of "light speed." It makes for a very fun drive. Thankful for time spent well with my family.

Adelyn's letter to Santa. It says: Dear Santa, I have been very good this year. I would like an Elsa and Anna doll that lights up and sings and talks. :)

If Adelyn had black hair, she would look just like Snow White.
