Chicken soup on a cold night.

Project 365 * 4
Day 673

Tobin watched tv for about ten minutes like that.

We had chicken soup for dinner tonight. I made the stock from the leftovers from a chicken I roasted. Stock made from roasted chicken is the best. It was a hodgepodge soup. Tomatoes, carrots, white beans, quinoa, orzo pasta, chick peas, and split peas. It was lovely. Chicken soup on a cold night does more than just warm your body. It warms the soul. Truly. Other soul warming moments today include Tobin saying, "night, Mama," after our nightly ritual. Bath, books, lullaby, bed. If I don't sing to him, he won't go down without a fight. Many hugs and kisses from my babies today. Too many to count. Wearing slippers and sweatpants all day. Cuddling in bed this morning. Walking into the living room after cleaning up from lunch to find that Adelyn had taken it upon herself to clean up all the toys. Just being with my babies. Being with the trees. Being with the sky.

Thankful for chicken soup for dinner. Thankful for soul warming moments.
