the Olivia Act

Project 365 * 2 -- Day 13

After the Sandy Hook school shooting, people all over the country began to try and find ways to spread some love, kindness, and goodness to others. Sometimes, it's just little acts of kindness like treats left on the fire engine. Several shifts ago, Matt and the other firefighters came out to find some sweets hanging on the handles of the fire engine. They had little notes attached. "Have a blessed day."

Other times, it's a huge act of kindness. A humongous blessing. Photographers all over the country began doing something called, "The Olivia Act." One of the shooting victims was a little girl named Olivia. Her family had just had professional pictures taken, and they said how very thankful they are to have those pictures of their sweet girl. So, photographers started giving free photo sessions and photos to families in honor of Olivia. Pretty awesome, right?

What's even more awesome? My family was nominated and chosen to receive a free photo session, and free prints. We are super excited about it. It is such a huge blessing, and I am so thankful to be receiving such an amazing gift.

I'm thankful that when things seem the darkest, when this world is thick with evil, love finds a way. Goodness, and kindness, and love always finds a way. Maybe that seems cheesy, and maybe it is, but it's true.

Not. Happy. Needs her Mama. NOW!

More dough.

Have you ever seen a more tiny, perfect leg? Sweet Sophia.

Cheese. I CANNOT get her to stop saying cheese in every picture. I can't ever just get a natural pic anymore! Oh well...
