Watermelon helps you...pee?

Project 365 * 2 -- Day 185

It was a sweet and funny day. Matt and I are potty-training Adelyn. And we bought a bunch of treats for her for when she goes to the bathroom on her potty. We started our potty-training day with a talk about her underwear. We talked about going to the potty. And we talked about her treats. She was so super excited about those treats. She sat on the potty a long time trying to get one of them. When I thought she needed a break from trying, I said to her, "let's take a break, and go eat some watermelon...that will help you go potty." (I read online that eating a ton of watermelon, and drinking a lot of juice is a good idea when potty-training, because it provides the child with many opportunities to use the potty!) "Okay," she replied, and she eagerly jumped off the potty and ran to the kitchen. I cut up some watermelon, and handed it to her. Unbeknownst to me, she ran back to the bathroom with her watermelon, and dumped it in the potty. I heard Matt laughing as he came around the corner into the kitchen. He was holding the little pot from Addy's potty. It contained her two pieces of watermelon. And there was Addy, looking somewhat confused. Poor, sweet girl. I mean...I did tell her it would help her use her potty.

And...AND, Tobin pulled himself up to a standing position today for the first time. All on his own. And he's cruising around the house now, army crawl style.

Thankful for a good day. Thankful for my funny girl, Adelyn. Always keeps me smiling and laughing. And thankful for my Tobin boy. He hugs me now. And, I can't lie...getting up at night with him isn't so bad. I always gets lots and lots of hugs and cuddles. And that makes it worth it.
