This day was seriously, awesome. We hosted a BBQ Potluck at our house. Seventeen adults. Eleven children. Lots of good food. Laughter. Lots of catching up. It was so, so good to see family. I very much miss big family functions. When I was a kid, we had big family dinners all the time. Now, not so much. Not that we don't want to, it's just with so many people, getting a date that works for everyone is hard. It was so good to see so many people I love and care about today. It filled me up.
Thankful, so thankful for a day of family. Thankful for a house full of people who love each other. People who have a history together. Thankful for laughter, and sweet children, and the fact that we could just hang out, and be together. It was simply, an awesome day.
Awww takes me back to many a Thanksgiving, Christmas, and summer afternoon at your grandmother's house!
